Heathrow Airport in London (airport code LHR) is Europe's busiest airport and 2nd busiest in the world. Only 24 kilometers from downtown London, Heathrow is connected to the city by the Heathrow Express, a rail line that takes passengers directly to and from Paddington Station in only 15 minutes. Heathrow has four terminals with Terminal 1 serving international customers and those traveling from other parts of the UK and Ireland. In 2011, all terminals were connected by a series of battery-operated Personal Transit Pods that carry passengers and luggage around the airport faster than buses while using less energy. Heathrow works with 56 airlines that fly to over 80 countries. From professional services to historic sights, London is a major international destination and on July 25, 2012, London will host the world's best athletes at the Games of the XXX Olympiad, the third time the city has hosted the games.
