Vancouver International Airport (airport code YVR) is Canada's 2nd busiest airport. It was built in 1930 after famous aviator Charles Lindbergh's chided that Vancouver had "no fit field to land on.' Since then Vancouver has built an airport that provides a strategic location for routes between Asia and North America and, after a successful 2010 Winter Olympics, a popular tourist destination. Vancouver has two terminals, the Domestic Terminal and the International and USA Terminal. Approximately 12 kilometers from downtown Vancouver, passengers can get to and from the airport in 26 minutes using the Canada Line rapid transit rail link. Taxis, buses, and rental cars are also available. Vancouver is a major cruise ship port with some 177 ships each year. To get to the cruise ship port, look for cruise representatives in the Domestic Terminal, Level 2, and at the Canada Customs Hall or International Reception Lobby for international passengers.
