Tenerife Sur (South) Airport (airport code TFS) is one of two airports on Tenerife in the Canary Islands. The other is Tenerife North Airport (TFN). The North Airport handles mostly inter-island flights and Spanish air carriers while the larger South Airport hosts over 40 airlines from all over the world. Located on the resort side, Tenerife South sees over 7 million passengers annually. The South Airport is about 60 kilometers from Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife. Cars, buses and taxis are available to take people all over the island. Operated by Aena Aeropuertos, Tenerife South Airport is a leader in the European Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) for sustainability.
