Princess Juliana International Airport (airport code SXM) is located in the Caribbean on the shared island of Dutch Sint Maarten and French St. Martin. The airport is located 15 kilometers northwest of Sint Maarten's capital Philipsburg and 3.2 kilometers from St. Martin's capital Marigot. The 2nd busiest airport in the Caribbean, the airport is named for the crown princess of the Netherlands who landed here in 1944. The airport has recently built a new 4-story terminal building and has over 20 airlines with flights from North American and Europe. As the gateway to the Lesser Antilles the airport ferries travelers to the nearby islands of Anguilla, Saba and St. Barts.
