Sharm el Sheikh International Airport (airport code SSH) serves the resort communities of Hadaba and Naama Bay along the Red Sea. Sharm el Sheikh is Egypt's 2nd busiest airport after Cairo and serves almost 10 million passengers on 13 air carriers each year. The airport has two terminals, Terminal 1, completed in 2007, and Terminal 2. Terminal 3 and a new runway are scheduled to open in 2012. Travel to and from the city takes about 20 minutes by public minibus or prepaid taxi. Originally called Ophira International Airport when it was under Israeli occupation, the area was returned to Egypt as part of the Camp David Accords in 1982.
