Dubai International Airport (airport code DXB) is a thoroughly modern facility although it has been in existence since 1959. Today it is top five in the world for international passengers and cargo traffic. Dubai has three terminals, including the award-winning Emirates Terminal 3, which opened in 2008. Terminal 3 is the world's largest building by floor space at 1.5 million square meters and is exclusive to Emirates Airline. Dubai International Hotel, a five-star hotel owned by Dubai Airports, is located in the Sheikh Rashid Terminal of Terminal 1 and Concourse B of Terminal 3. Dubai Airport also runs three of the world's longest commercial flights to the US cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston. A city that began a small agricultural village is now the current home to the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, and Ski Dubai, a 22,500 square meter indoor ski resort with 6,000 tons of artificial snow.
