Daytona Beach International Airport (airport code DAB) is located 3 miles southwest of Daytona Beach city center and adjacent to Daytona International Speedway. The gateway to Central Florida, Daytona Airport is close to the Atlantic Ocean, Orlando, Florida, Kennedy Space Center and St. Augustine, Florida. The airport has two terminals, Domestic Terminal, serving Delta Airlines, US Airways and Air Gate, and International Terminal with flights to the Bahamas. The airport unofficially began in 1906 when air travel was in its infancy and new pilots took to landing aircraft on the beach at Daytona because of the long, hard and smooth surface. What became airport's current location was built in 1930.
