Bandaranaike International Airport (airport code CMB) at Katunayake, Sri Lanka, is 30 kilometers north of the island nation's capital of Colombo. Twenty-four airlines currently serve the airport's over 4 million annual passengers. Taxis, buses and rental cars are available for transportation. The airport has three passenger terminals. Terminal 1 is for international flights, Terminal 2 is also international and undergoing expansion, and the new Terminal 3 for domestic flights is expected to open March 2012. The airport's new Silk Route lounge recently opened expediting the customs process for Commercially Important Passengers. In 2011, Sri Lanka was a co-host for the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup along with India and Bangladesh.
