Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (airport code AUS) serves the city of Austin and Central Texas. It has one terminal named for former Congresswomen Barbara Jordan and has three levels, Baggage Claim, Concourse and Mezzanine. Located eight miles from Austin, eleven airlines serve the airport providing 36 non-stop destinations in the US. The airport has a Family Viewing Area near the east runway with one acre set aside for viewing plane take offs and approaches. Austin is the state capital of Texas and home to the University of Texas.
