Abu Dhabi International Airport (airport code AUH) is located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The airport has over 40 airlines serving 80 cities in over 45 countries. The airport has three terminals, 1, 2, and 3. Terminal 3, serving Etihad Airways exclusively, opened in 2009 and Terminal 1 just reopened after undergoing extensive renovations, which will allow the airport to serve 12 million passengers each year. Located 32 kilometers from the city center, a variety of public and private coaches, shuttles, taxis, and cars can take visitors into Abu Dhabi, which is located on an island in the Arabian Gulf and connected to the mainland by bridges.
