Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (airport code ATH) is the 27th busiest airport in Europe located 27 kilometers northeast of the capital of Athens, Greece. Expanded and updated for the 2004 Olympics, the airport consists of a main terminal divided into areas A and B. There is also a satellite terminal for charter flights. Line 3 of the Metro takes about 35 minutes to the center of Athens. The Metro can also take travelers to the ferry terminals of Piraeus. Taxis, buses and rental cars are also available. With over 65 airlines handling over 15 million travelers, Athens Airport is a major connection between Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
